Frenchify your life without breaking the bank

My mother passed on her francophilia to me, and as a result, I’ve loved all things French since I was very small. From Babar to Monet, from Jacques Pépin to Edith Piaf — I dreamed of visiting France and immersing myself in the culture that has produced so much wonderful art, literature, music, and food.
I’ve been to France several times as an adult, and I’m always eager to go back. I wouldn’t mind retiring there — maybe living in a flat on the Rue des Martyrs in Paris, or in a renovated farmhouse near Giverny. France is an amazing country with a unique history and heritage. I don’t think I’ll ever run out of things I’d like to experience while there.
In between visits, I study French, make and eat French food, and binge watch French TV shows. I started this series to share the many ways I bring a little French goodness into my daily life without breaking the bank. Maybe you, too, want a soupçon of that je ne sais quoi even if you’re not cousu d’or.
I’ll share a lot of recipes. I’ll post lists of inexpensive ways to improve your French, Frenchify your kitchen, living space, and wardrobe. I’ll review French media both classic and new. I welcome questions, comments, and suggestions from readers as well. As the French say, “Plus on est de fous, plus on rit!” (The more, the merrier!)
