Some of our very favorite recipes have come from the food section of the Los Angeles Times (and more recently, the New York Times). I have a great collection of cookbooks with favorite pages and ideas dog-eared. I also will frequently look for a specific category online (for example, bar cookies or Asian-inspired salad, or instant pot beef stew, for example), to compare recipes, and have found some sites I trust (Damn Delicious and Once Upon A Chef are perennial favorites). But I find the online cooking blogs annoying. I don’t want to read a long story, or see a shot-by-shot or watch a video of how to put it together. I just scroll (and scroll and scroll) down to the recipe. Can’t wait for the new edition of Comfortably Yum! My copy is lovingly marked with so many favorites, and literally falling apart!

I finally caved and subscribed to the NYTimes cooking website. Fabulous resource. Rombauer’s Joy of Cooking has been a go-to for 40 years, but I have favorite personalities on TV Food shows who often inspire, and I’ve had luck just casting a net into the vast cyber ocean and dragging back some lovely discoveries.

I subscribe to a couple of magazines (Allrecipes and Taste of Home) and also use a lot of online resources, like Pinterest. I have some go-to cookbooks as well.

For inspiration/ideas, cookbooks are my first go-to, but I also use online cooking resources.
